Hi picnic.

Go back a few posts to where we were discussing her disability. I think she learnt singing originally to try to overcome a speech impediment.

Hi all :)...I love that she made yuk Simons eyes open and eat his thoughts lol

It must be massive for her to go through the instant success like that....her life would have changed in such a good way but dunno that being in the lime light so much would be great.

In answer to above here though personally I feel for her and her story and love that she got a chance to sing and well too...(not my type of music though) and she's possibly shy and didn't she nurse her mum fo r a long time so I'm thinking maybe she didn't get out much and have a life but dunno.

Also love that she knocked back Simons offer apparently to go overseas or somewhere for peace and quiet....changed his tune from day 1 eh.

I watched the Susan Boyle story on channel 9 tonight. I was inspired. She may not be to everyone's tastes, but her story is inspiring.

I like the album but her voice doesn't suit all the songs on it. Personally I loved Wild Horses. I believe PC, that she was deprived of 02 at birth but her abilities have never been fully tested. her interview techique is probably a rsult of her isolation. I believe she has good people looking after her interests now. She lost her Mum last year also so it has been a stressful time (where's that scale again?) so it's no wonder the public sent her a little crazy - look at what fame does to those who've had years of public exposure.

Susan Boyle is a 40s something Scottish woman who stunned the music world with her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables, as a contestant on Britain's Got Talent, earlier this year.

Exquisite voice.

I think her story is touching and inspiring. But I do think she may put people off by the way she comes across, which I still think is due to her disability.

BTW, my wife got her Chrissy present, it's great.

I know what you mean. I think it is part of her disability that she doesn't interview well. I cringe when I hear her. But I do like her singing voice.

I'm not a big fan of those singers that simply do cover albums but she is quite of an inspirational story with an inspirational voice so I may check out the album.

As I mentioned above, I think the thing that makes it inspirational for me is that this lady has either a learning disability or intellectual disability, yet she has moved people to tears with her beautiful voice.
