  • Hi Border patrol,

We share the same drink.  I drink in the evenings before dinner.  And to everyone I'm new to this so you guys will have to guide me ha  I'm 60 my daughters are in their mid thirties and very savvy.  I'm trying guys.  But when I came into community tonight the whole page format had changed.

I thought I should write a book called "hey stop progress at least until I catch up".

I've been in executive roles in large corporates now retirred on a disability pension and I struggle with all thi "new stuff".  But I'm trying.  I moved to the country for a green change and became a youth worker. So I need to be involved.

But remember guys I was a copy typist in the days of typewriters where every word had to be correct.  Couldn't use spell check or anything one can do on a computer.  I remember being in an office when they threw out typewriters and had a very *** computer.  So hey.  Now I'm trying to adapt.

We used to reinvent ourselves maybe once in our career when you grew up 50's and 60's but now I know most of you will have to reinvent yourselves maybe 4 or 5 times in your career.  This is good if by choice but tough if technology moves you to places you don't want to go.

Do you think I maybe a tad too verbose! ha

  • Oh and the smoother the better LH :)

Have you tried JW blue lable, nice drop right there.

Although you would need a spare couple of hundred for the bottle lol

If you are what you eat. I need to eat a skinny person.

  • Havn,t tried blue label but like black - also like single malts but a crime to put dry in them so don't pay the extra for single malt.  Man it took me ages to find out how to reply.  Was trying to get involved in hangman.  Can you imagine my movie picks songs etc at my age.  Though must admit loooove music so stay up to date with that.  Think I should be a "rap granny" ha.  Love diction of eminem. Sorry if I stuffed up spelling.  I remember when INXS started and in Caringbah nsw their were the normal signs stuck on telegraph poles when they appeared in a pub there in the early days.  I thought there name was incks.  Ha.  Now I know better!!!

  • Hello LH,

I feel a tad old today at the ripe old age of 45....just came over to the new forums and have been going "UGH my aching head" for the last half hour....

Think I'll give up at this point - way too much information overload.

Anyways, this is my first post on the new forums, thought I'd better start somewhere....and for the record, I'm a Bacardi and Coke kinda girl myself. Big Smile

Hope we both can play 'catch up' on the new forums....phew, exhausted just thinking about.

    Have a great Sunday.

    Cheers.

  • I love though Kahlua and coke....drink from the gods....bliss in a glass. Many drink ups in the nurses homes with that and cocktails at nightclubs (Black Russians...gorgeous).

SOoooo I guess JW Red and cola or coke is 2nd but a closey.

Ruthy I use to drink Bacardi and Coke for a while too...my liver thanks me that I got over the heavy partying a loooong time ago :)

Still like to drink though but don't that often these days which is ok

  • I just did the same thing a tic ago doing a PM...this is the 3rd time I'm attempting to complete this without wiping it out...don't ya love that.

So...had a JW and coke Black label today and whoa....I see now why people say it's so nice....very smooth, and doesn't give that har catch type thing in the throat when you drink some spirits.Really nice.

They didn't have JW Red so was good, but more expensive and was surprised the barmaid hadn't even heard of Red.

Here's the scary bit...Blue label apparently a man was saying is $500 a bottle.... Surprise ...jeez that'd have to be liquid gold wouldn't it to pay that much.

Now for a shock...did yous know
